Synopsis:

Kyle Kirby has planned a cruel and unusual revenge on Cass McBride, the most popular girl in school, for the death of his brother David. He digs a hole. Drugs Cass. Kidnaps her. Puts her in a box-underground. He buries her alive. But Kyle makes a fatal error: Cass knows the power of words. She uses fear as her weapon to keep her nemesis talking - and to keep herself breathing during the most harrowing 48 hours of her life.

A vivid, complex, and insightful work of suspense.

Review:

You can't help screaming 'PSYCHO' at the end of this book. Oh my god, I'm so glad I went to school with normal people. Uh-hem, anyway WHCM is a psychological thriller. One boy killed himself and a few days later another girl goes missing. Is it all related? Well, from the beginning we've a fair idea. The book is told from three POV's. One is Kyle, one is Cass (from the title) and one is Ben, a cop on the case. The three cover every variable about the case, where Cass is and who took her. But the intriguing part is not the who but the why.

Did Cass and the boy know each other? Why did the boy kill himself? And why is Cass kidnapped in the middle of the night.

All I can say is this book is brilliant. Even from the beginning I was having doubts about the different characters. Was the book purposely leading me in one direction, while the characters then turn on each other. It isn't even about popularity or whether Cass is liked that much.
Was the father involved? Why was the pin stuck into David's skin? Did he really kill himself? So many questions.....
The reason for his death and her kidnapping is so much more disturbing.

Check this book out, it's a really good one. 😀
